Overview

An Aircraft Painter II coats the surfaces of an aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices. The aircraft painter removes old paint from aircraft, using various methods.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares the aircraft for paint by masking and sanding the aircraft and parts; pre-treat, mix and apply sealant and de-mask aircraft
  • Primes and paints aircraft and aircraft parts; mixes paint, sets up equipment for full paint and paints basecoat.
  • Prepares layout and stencils aircraft
  • Performs bead blast operations
  • Completes required documents. Reads and has an understanding of technical manuals and painting processes
  • Reads and follows work instructions
  • Maintains all documentation throughout process; documentation is legible and per QMS and/or customer requirements
  • Assembles materials and resources needed for the position; cleans equipment properly
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

  • Two years general experience required
  • Paint experiece preferred

 Any combination of education/experience may be substituted for job requirements at the recommendation of the hiring manager and approval of the COO or higher.
